Nagra Media UK

Newport-based Accountancy specialists Kilsby & Williams have secured a third Welsh Government public sector investment package for Nagra Media UK, which will help fund 20 new jobs in the local economy.

We specialise in raising public sector investment for inward investment projects into Wales with Nagra Media UK Limited, being one of the most successful cases, having received a series of non-repayable growth project funds from the Welsh Government.

Cwmbran-based Nagra Media UK Limited was formed in 2005 with Welsh Government backing, to service the IPTV (internet television) market and provide a flexible system of satellite, cable, internet and mobile phone networks, rather than the rigid platforms offered by competitors. The company, which is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Swiss-owned and stock exchange-listed Kudelski Group, has been managed by Mark Williams, Nagra’s Director of Operations, since its inception.

Kilsby & Williams partner Simon Tee assisted Mr Williams in securing funds from the Welsh Government to set up the facility and develop products towards open middleware with high-end functionality and the creation of 60 high specification IT jobs.

This latest successful funding round will boost staff numbers to 134 across two large buildings covering 8.5k square feet.

Simon Tee said: “The success of Nagra Media UK in Wales is down to a high calibre of IT skills available here being recruited, nurtured and run by a management team with a proven track record within the sector.

“The Welsh Government recognises the need for well-paid and sustainable jobs and supports the company’s growth plans. There are many competing alternative locations for the projects around the world which Kudelski thoroughly evaluate, but the additional support from the Welsh Government allied to the skills available in Wales creates a very strong business case.
